Carol Spagg

Carol Spagg has been involved with historic cars all her life, from the moment she got her first car, an MGA, because as a student she couldn’t afford a modern car and went for a classic. She never looked back, owning, driving and collecting some of the world’s great cars. She started racing in the ‘90s, first in a 1932 8C Alfa Romeo and a Lotus XI, and an Aston Martin, which she rallied around the world, most notably in the Carrera Panamericana Mexico. Also in the ‘90s, she began to organise races herself, founding and running the hugely successful Gentleman Drivers series, which continues to this day in the hands of Masters Historic Racing, as well as U2TC and the Royal Automobile Club Tourist Trophy for Historic Cars (Pre-’63 GT) series of races. In 1994 she founded the monthly Historic Motor Racing New magazine to cater for the drivers, organisers, preparers and all those involved in historic motor sport and continues as its editor to the present day.
